A BRIEF HISTORY OF
NAGUILIAN WATER DISTRICT
The Naguilian Water District is a Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC), established by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 198. It was officially granted Certificate of Conformance No. 84 on July 6, 1979, solidifying its legal framework and status as a public utility entity.
The Naguilian Water District currently manages nine (9) Deep Wells and one (1) Natural Spring. Among the Deep Wells, seven are in active operation, strategically situated in Barangay Imelda, Barangay Lioac Norte, Barangay Cabaritan Sur, Barangay Agioas, and Barangay Bato. The sole source of the Natural Spring for Naguilian Water District is the Casilagan Watershed, a protected area governed by the National Integrated Protected Areas System Law of 1992. Additionally, the district operates a Ground Reservoir located at Barangay Bariquir, functioning as a catch basin for water sourced from the Casilagan Watershed. These water sources collectively contribute to the district’s efforts in providing a reliable and sustainable water supply to its concessionaires.
Naguilian Water District is unwavering in its commitment to fulfill its mandate, ensuring a continuous delivery of adequate, potable, and affordable water to all its concessionaires without interruption. The district’s vision is towards becoming a progressive, self-sufficient, and financially viable utility firm. It aspires to provide a continuous, potable, safe, adequate, and affordable water supply to the maximum number of people within its jurisdiction. This forward-looking vision underscores Naguilian Water District’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of its community through sustainable and accessible water services.
