The Naguilian Water District (NWD) has recently commissioned one of its major projects for the year. The drilling of the new production well commenced in March of this year and was completed by the end of May. The fit-out and installation of its electro-mechanical equipment and discharge line were finalized by mid-June, and initial operations began in late June. On July 12, following the installation of an additional distribution transformer, the newly drilled production well began operating at full capacity 24/7, having previously run on reduced capacity and was powered by a generator.

Lioac Norte II Pumping Station with Deep Well # 1 and the new Deep Well # 2

The newly drilled production well has a capacity of producing up to 2.1 million liters per day (MLD) of water. This improvement has significantly enhanced the water supply and pressure for most NWD concessionaires. The additional 2.1 MLD capacity has also boosted the output of the Lioac Norte II Pumping Station, which now produces 3.9 MLD, increasing NWD’s overall production capacity to 8.2 MLD that is being produced by the now 7 active deep wells of NWD

NWD remains committed to further enhancing its services and water supply system. We have plans to implement additional projects aimed at improving the quality of the water supply in the Municipality of Naguilian, La Union.

We appreciate the patience and support of our concessionaires. Rest assured, NWD will continue to strive to provide safe water for all, at all times.
